The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2007 place a legal duty on Clients to appoint a CDM Co-ordinator on all notifiable projects.

Peace of mind with NHBC

NHBC Health & Safety is experienced in providing the CDM Co-ordinator service for a wide range of projects of varying size and complexity. Appointing NHBC as your CDM Co-ordinator ensures the peace of mind of knowing that essential health and safety duties are being met. We work closely and efficiently with Clients management and project teams, liasing with the Health and Safety Executive where necessary.

Our standard service includes:

  • Notifying the HSE of the project
  • Co-ordinating the design team to ensure the Designers are addressing their duties under CDM
  • Provide competent advice to the Client regarding their duties under the CDM regulations
  • Identify and collect the pre-construction information and advise the client of the suitability of this information
  • Assisting the Client in ensuring competency of all duty holders, and suitability of the Principal Contractors management arrangements and resources.
  • Reviewing and advising the Client on the adequacy of the initial Construction Phase Plan and its development as the project progresses.
  • Compiling the Health and Safety File

We can also:

  • Advise on the resources and health and safety competency needed by any contractor or sub contractor you consider employing.
  • Carry out periodic reviews of your contractors and sub contractor's health and safety competence.
